I spent the first part of my working life in industry at Gulf Oil Incorporated in Houston, Texas. During that time the majority of my training and experience was gained in the Accounting Department of the Marketing Division. The last several years at Gulf were spent in troubleshooting problematic account reconciliations and managing a staff of employees that reconciled daily data input to a control ledger.
After leaving Gulf Oil, I worked at the University of Houston and the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in the Offices of Sponsored Programs. While Director of OSP at UTMB, I managed the preaward and proposal preparation, institutional coordinator for the IRB and IACUC, postaward management, contract specialist, intellectual property, Material Transfer Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, research finance accounting, and policy and process formulation. I also spent two years while at the University of Houston in the Institute for Molecular Design where I gained invaluable experience in research administration as it is practiced from the department perspective.
I?ve been at Stevens since December 2007. |
