Pfizer, Inc., through the Pfizer Foundation, and the Indepedent College Fund of New Jersey, has elected to provide research funding for student-initiated Technogenesis research projects next summer as part of the Pfizer Undergraduate Research Endeavors (PURE) Science Program. The funding is intended to help to create "a talented new generation of scientists and engineers by supporting high quality undergraduate research programs." The Technogenesis Program, initiated in 2001 through the generosity of Allan and Marcelle G. Kadell, has provided research and entrepreneurship training as well as a stipend and summer housing for more than 250 Stevens undergraduates. The Pfizer PURE Science Program funding will enable the expansion of the program to include research costs associated with three biomedical research projects proposed by students.
