Dr. Suphan Kovenklioglu of Chemical Engineering is being recognized for his teaching excellence. The criteria for the award is based on a high level of success in imparting knowledge and understanding to students. It is judged according to 1) the degree and quality of inspiration engendered in the students; 2) the effectiveness of the motivation and preparation of the students for their professional careers; and 3) the extent to which intellectual integrity and professional ethics are instilled in the students. Selected from the responses of 1,500 alumni of the five most recent graduating classes, the award will be presented to Dr. Kovenklioglu at the Stevens Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, September 30, 2006.
