Course Name: Microprocessors in Process Control
Description: 

Designed to provide the process engineers with the background necessary to understand and work with microprocessor -based systems. Topics include: introduction and overview of microprocessor-based technology in chemical engineering; analog and digital signal conditioning, data transmission and serial interfacing using RS-232C and GPIB IEEE-488standards; analog-to-digital conversion and sampling; digital-to-analog conversion; digital I/O, switches/relays, and power supplies; microprocessor-based sensors, transducers and actuators; programmable logic controllers and batch process control; software packages for data-acquisition and control.
