General Information
Prior to Stevens, Hady spent 20 years at Bell Communications Research/ Telcordia Technologies, where he had many positions ranging from Member of the Technical Staff to Vice President.  Early in his career at Bellcore (in the late 80s), he developed Systems Requirements for Broadband Access Technologies, including Fiber to the Premises, DSL, and Wi-Max and published over 100 papers in this area, mainly on fiber-to-the-home.  He was also active in many national and international standards committees that were responsible for defining SONET/SDH and ATM.  Dr. Salloum also developed system architectures and requirements for fiber to the home that are used today by service providers worldwide.  He is an active senior member of the IEEE serving as technical editor for the IEEE Communications Magazine.  He also served as Operations editor, Feature Editor, and Guest Editor for the Magazine and Chaired the North Jersey PES Chapter.  He is also a member of Tau Beta Pi.
   
Institutional Service
Dr. Hady R. Salloum, a Stevens Alumnus joined the Maritime Security Laboratory at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2006 as Director of Technology Applications.  He was instrumental in winning the award from the Department of Homeland Security for a National Center of Excellence for Port Security led by Stevens.  He is also a Lecturer in Systems Engineering and a Distinguished Service Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
