Bachelor of Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. These degrees draw on a broad-based curriculum designed by the Edwin A. Stevens School of Engineering and Science to provide depth of knowledge in the area of study and develop complimentary skills. Students are able to obtain a BE degree with Thesis, working with a faculty member on a contemporary topic of interest. Students can also obtain a minor in another program. Master of Engineering

Master of Engineering (ME) degrees are offered in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Networked Information Systems. Students in each program are required to complete three core courses and an additional seven elective courses. Three elective courses must be selected according to an area of concentration within the student's program. Typically, three full semesters are required to complete the degree.

Undergraduates may arrange to complete their Master's degree in parallel with a Bachelor's degree. This option generally requires a total of five years of study.

Doctorate

A Doctorate degree is available in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.

• Mobile networks including ad-hoc networks
• Efficient and reliable transmission of media-rich information over noisy channels
• Signal detection and estimation
• Image processing
• Network performance analysis
• Modeling of microwave structures

Students can also pursue multidisciplinary degree programs, such as Computer Science, Physics, and Biomedical Engineering. These programs allow students to take advantage of the faculty and facilities in other departments in order to complete their academic studies and research.

Electrical Engineer/Computer Engineer
The degrees of Electrical Engineer and Computer Engineer serve students interested in continuing education past a Master's degree but not wishing to proceed to a Doctorate degree. These programs of study require 30 credits of coursework beyond a Master's degree. In addition, a significant student project must be completed.
