Admissions

The requirement for admission into the Master of Engineering degree program is a Bachelor's degree in engineering. However applicants with degrees in computer science, chemistry, physics, or mathematics may also be admitted into the program and may need to complete prerequisite courses. The specific requirements will be determined by a faculty adviser on an individual basis depending on the student's educational background and work experience. Each student will meet with his/her faculty advisor to devise a study plan that matches the student's background, experience, and interests while also satisfying the formal coursework requirements for the Master's degree.

Candidates for a Master's Degree in Engineering must complete 30 credits (10 courses with 3 credits/course) and earn a GPA of 3.0 or better. All students in this program must complete the four core courses and up to six elective courses selected from one of the nine engineering tracks listed below. The student, with the approval of the program director, may design customized tracks. Up to six elective credits may be taken in lieu of the course credits towards a project relevant in a selected track.
