Applied Research Opportunities for ME Undergraduates
 

The Mechanical Engineering Department has 14 job openings in seven technical areas of interest as noted below.

  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Machinery. One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Engineering Manufacturing Methods (Selection and Optimization). One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Operating Principles and Application of Rapid Prototyping Technologies. One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Coordinate-Measuring Machines. One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Systems Control and Automation. One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Design of Experiments Methods and DOE Applications in Industrial Environments. One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
  • Position will involve conducting research in the area of Solar Energy. One of the potential outcomes of this research will be the creation of a multimedia training presentation for the benefit of other students. This position is open to ME Undergraduates, including Freshmen, and will require two students who will work as a team. It is expected that students will commit up to 10 hours per week to this research.
